A bath may seem pretty mundane to most people, but to us it is a huge deal. Giving Maisie a bath today gave us the brief feeling of normalcy, of life outside the NICU. Other parents get to bathe their kids all they want- we had to wait for nurses and doctors and the powers that be to okay it and supervise it and watch over the whole procedure as if it were a surgery or major intervention. But all considered, both Maisie and her parents enjoyed the event and felt all clean and bubbly and warm and cozy.
